Top Tips for Appearing on TV

publication date: Jun 26, 2013

Want to be on TV?

The best way to get yourself - and your property - on television is to respond to the requests production companies regularly put out to ask you to appear.

For example, there are two production companies who have TV programmes they are about to film:-

Escape to the Continent

They are looking for people who are ready to relocate to the Continent and are actively looking to buy a property abroad.

House Hunters

Betty TV are looking for house hunters to take part in a brand new Channel 4 property show. Want to know how to get more house for your money or make that hard-earned deposit stretch further?

Whether you are a first time buyer or already on the ladder they would like to hear from you.

What production companies are looking for:-

1. Someone that will turn up on time!

2. People who are genuinely looking to move - they do vet people and check you are able to go through with the purchase/rental

3. People who are quite confident and open about why they are moving

If you fit this criteria now's the time to apply!

Before you ring or email, do be clear about your personal property circumstances and bear in mind you will have to sign some paperwork to say you are happy for whatever is captured on film to be broadcast - you won't be invited in to the edit!

If you are going to be filmed:-

1. Make sure you know if you need to apply make up yourself or if someone will be provided

2. If they provide a make up artist, it's a good idea to apply a quality foundation ONLY

3. Find out if there are any clothing restrictions such as no thin stripes or to garish colours!

4. Get used to be filmed beforehand - use your smartphone or if you haven't got one, practice a lot in front of a mirror!!

5. Make sure you know how long you will be needed for, all day, overnight etc and always ask when the programme will be going out - they don't always broadcast in order, so you may be first or last, so best to tape the series!

Good luck and enjoy your moment of fame!
