Online Agent Checklist

Make sure the on-line agent is a member of ARLA, NALs or RICS – if they aren’t they can run off with your money! For example, Rentify ARLA, NALs and RICs agents can advertise your property on portals such as Rightmove and Zoopla   
Check they have a landline and a team you can talk to if you have any problems    
Compare the costs of advertising your property on their site – is it nothing?   
A one off fee? A fee for a fixed period of time such as three months. For example Rentify pricing   
Check they advertise your property legally, including the rent and any other charges a tenant will need to pay (for example credit checks)  
Does the site offer properties nationally or just in one location?   
Will they provide a lettings board  
How many tenants visit the site daily?  
How do they market the site to tenants? On-line only or via newspapers
or property portals
 
Find out how many clicks or how long it takes to advertise a property prior
to it being let 
 

Which, if any, of the following services do they offer and how much do they cost:-

  • Rental valuations
  • Taking photos 
  • Floorplans
  • Energy performance certficate
  • Property viewings
